HK-C Chicken Door with Light Sensor Simple and Compact

The electronic flap opener HK-C is a compact advancement of the well-known JT-HK, featuring the latest enhancements to improve usability without compromising on our trusted safety features.

Like the JT-HK, all connections for an external button or remote display are available. Even a connection for a wireless remote control is integrated into the device.

Emergency Stop and Manual Override

The automatic chicken door or flap opener HK-C features an overload protection system that shuts off in case of a slider blockage or excessive weight. The HK-C is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation and does not open during thunderstorms (lightning). For indoor installation, an external light sensor is required (Article No.: 1663LDR_1/1, available in lengths from 1 to 8 meters).

To check the flap status from a distance, such as when the door is around a corner, you can connect a remote display. It is equipped with very bright LEDs that indicate whether the door is open, closed, or manually operated. (Article No.: 142).

If your outdoor area is fenced or equipped with an aviary, you can use either an external button or a wireless remote control for manual operation of the flap opener.

Adjustable Cut-Off Current

Newly added and different from the predecessor model, the HK-C now allows you to adjust the cut-off current for opening. This feature enables a motor- and gear-friendly operation of the HK-C.

A rotary switch with 4 positions allows for flap weight adjustment from less than 1 kg to over 2.5 kg:

• Position 0: 0.4–1.0 kg
• Position 1: 1.0–1.5 kg
• Position 2: 1.5–2.5 kg
• Position 3: ≥ 2.5 kg

Closing Delay

This frequently used feature has also been carried over from the predecessor model. Every chicken keeper knows their hens – each one has its own personality.

In the evening, when it’s time for “Ladies, off to the coop,” there’s always one or two who want to stay out a bit longer.

To avoid constantly adjusting the light sensor values, you can set a 30-minute delay. Once the light level is reached, the flap will remain open for 30 minutes, ensuring that all chickens are safely inside the coop.

Light Sensor

The light or dusk sensor comes with preset values that have proven effective through years of experience. However, you can still adjust these settings, as the installation location is a crucial factor.
